In his speech at the Center for Strategic Studies in January 2017, Ali Sarzaeem (Assistant Professor of Economics at Allameh Tabataba'i University) discussed polpulism and its implications for policy-making. Then he offered several examples in Iranian policy-making in which populism has had disruptive effects in economic policies. The examples are: 1. Civil Servants Pension Organization 2. The budget for schools and education 3. Water crisis in Iran and water pricing 4. Air pollution and petrol price.
